Scribbles of a budding artist

These are Paddy's First Drawings...

The Two at the back are From around June time, Pinching Pop pop's oil pastles

Now She has her own wax crayons to play with mummy  and scribble on PAPER
not the walls like mummy did as a littlie....

of course help from mummy and Nana Mumbles  goes a long way...
She likes picking them up and showing the colours!

Nana Lou

You may know Nana Lou, My mum, Manxgirl

Well Paddy got the chance to pull faces at the camera for her this morning   but alas, the little tTilly Monster decided to play "lets stare at the T.V.

It isn't often we get to wave on Skype to New Zealand!

anyways  I promiced mum some Pigtails and possibility of smiles......

This is the best I could do for now  Camera is back on charge

we will start with a couple of days ago.... typical "im happy sleeping here thanks mum"

Big smiles   but there is hair everywhere...

this morning whilst Paddy was having her 2nd breakfast well  a morning snack of Weetabix

attempting to pigtail hair when not in her high chair is a little more difficult than expected
FUNNY FACE

Awww I missed the smiles...
"CORN ON THE COB...."
she usually smiles

"get any closer   you get square eyes!

"oh  so you find that funny?"

"did you just Botty Parp???"  she did n all   stink bomb

cuddles please mummy

mummy was calling out phrazes to make her laugh   but she wouldn't look at the camera

cheeky!

Thought I would show you some CHEEKY smiles from our visit to Nana Mumbles (daddy's mum)

Sitting in the seat molei and I fight over (I get demoted to the  sofa, next to mumbles if paddy hasn't already taken it)

look at that smile... how can you not melt?
she is wearing her new jumper. it has a bit of growth space, as you see.
 But its just like mummy,
Big jumpers are cosier

She has become a little poser and a little more girly
And suits her hair out of her face.
("wheres the shaggy dog gone???")

full of smiles today and Kisses all round

Who needs a photo studio with a lovely living room like this?

pinching nana's fabric orchids from her smelly pot (fragrant dried flowers and a few fabric ones too)

We popped upstairs to see what Daddy and Pop pops were upto
(on Pop pops laptop and sorting printer inks)
and cause mischief by swapping bins around in the bedrooms and office

Then after a tuna sandwich (she loved it),
we popped outside to see what the sunflowers were doing...
... Getting tall
we were going to send the picture into cbeebeies (toddler channel on t v) to show them how tall they were,
but mummy was too late, the "send in" section was closed and preparing for the next show and tell.
maybe next time, see what it is they ask for.

time for a cup of tea (juice for paddy) and a biscuit.
Oh we cant forget cuddles

Poor Paddy

Paddy hasn't been well recently.
Luckily it is just one of those 24 hour bugs but seeing her in a state of constant sleep and drink (water and very weak juice) means lots of cuddles and snuggles before and after a trip to see the doctor.

Today she is a little more herself.... she ate all her breakfast and asked for more  so see how she is by lunch we will pop out   (need the usual essentials).

got very adorable pictures coming up

Also managed a little bit of hooking these last couple of days
just in the middle of a replacement for a hexagon that accidently got chucked out and attached a couple of others.. using my kitchen Side as my work place as that is the best place not to have hexagons getting pinched by a cheeky paddy

(as I type paddy plods through in demand of more juice and a cheeky grin)

Lets be a little cringe worthy first.....
A friend FOUND a picture of my first year in school
we are still attempting to name everyone.. only 2 left to find due to moving away young or just not remembering the face/ name

Can you see me?
we've named all but two and those two and one other are the only ones who haven't seen this picture in the last two days.

Here we are   kitchen/ chaos of wool biggest project so far that hasn't been undone

Last night's cuddles before bed with DADDY
she misses him in the day and during the week only sees an hour of him whilst he relaxes

this morning's Z catching after daddy had gone...

Yesterday, Supposed to be getting ready for the doctors
"come on cheeky, time to wake up"
she flinched  that was it

anyways  I have  a couple of jobs to do  and may grumble at the drunk that lives downstairs for the 2 am wakeup call to get in!

Tuesday 5 August 2014

Between paddy being a cutiepie and being glued to the tv and toys....

I got a little further with some ideas on the painting front...
As promised A couple of  Knox alikes and a couple of others too

Yes, some are nice simple and basic, others are fiddly, especially with a  paintbrush.

I would say, like Knox's colours and pattern flow but also one of my own styles of "scribble"

Almost Julia Ashby Smyth... Wasn't supposed to look like her work, but it does..

This is Julia Ashby Smyth 's Moddey Dhoo .
all the manxies will know who he is!
He is a demon dog that Haunts Peel Castle on the Isle of man..... there is even a wicker structure of him in the Guards room ... Scares the heebies out of you if you're not expecting him

Back to my sketches...

this is very Knox in colour  but ME  mostly with the " whispy Spider web/ vine "scribble""

No my story is not the little mermaid.. close  but no..... its about sirens being brought to peril and treasures that are lost...  is there a hero?
maybe if I get the story published or just the pictures on here you may find out.
well that was yesterday...

I'm off to put my washing in the BUMBLE dryer.
It's very yucky outside ... Paddy and I are yet to brave it....
After lunch it will be "get wet time"

Monday 4 August 2014

shhhh, paddy is asleep.

whilst paddy is happily snoozing, I thought I will show you some work I am doing currently..

Firstly  some inspiration into what I am doing

Archibald Knox. A Manx ART DECO / celtic artist who created some of the most beautiful logbooks and silverware that is EXTREAMLY collectable and expensive even now.

(more Knox)
I've been influenced by this awe struck work since I can remember.
And can, myself, draw intricate celtic knots and designs and excaudate them similarly

(found on pintrest)
At the moment the piece I am working on is very "under the sea" at the moment
Im mostly sketching and painting to see how things would work
and a lot of them look like stain glass

A Disney art deco Ariel! (again Pintrest)
Very art deco Poster

I like this image from the Kelp wraping itself around her and the Frame. something I don't usually add but will try similar ideas maybe.

Here is one of my sketches. partially painted.
not Knox but it does have the art deco theme in it

I will continue by possibly photographing a few Knox style Ideas once they have been painted.
